'The weakest link'

As a businessman in Fresno, I could understand how Fresno County Supervisor Bob Waterston would get frustrated with the speed and efficiency of City Hall.

After listening to the tape of Supervisor Waterston on The Bee's Web site, I am convinced he knew exactly what he was doing when he made his veiled threat to Nick Yovino.

Supervisor Waterston has been around far too long to say he meant nothing by his "door swings both ways" comment. With more than six years of experience on the Board of Supervisors and with his Local Agency Formation Commission position, he knew he could make the city miserable if he wanted to.

I am sure this is not the first time the supervisor has used his public position for personal gain. This was just the first time he was dumb enough to get caught.

The county is crying out for leadership and it is clear that Supervisor Waterston is the weakest link. He needs to resign his position on LAFCO, and give serious consideration to whether he has the moral compass to remain a supervisor.

Fresno County needs leadership for all residents, not just those having their pools built by Bob Waterston
