Make coins different

In my opinion the new dollar coin will go the route of the previous attempts -- failure. Once again the government is making them gold and about the size of a quarter. Even in the best light, gold is barely discernible from silver and after just a little circulation, wear and fading, it takes a hard look at the coin to tell it from a quarter.

If the government is really serious about a dollar coin it would make them about half again the size of the quarter, half the weight of the quarter and color them blue or dark green. I feel that the vending industry should not be able to dictate to the government on this issue when there is so much money that can be saved in printing costs.
