The casino folks in Coarsegold want to dump treated sewage water into Coarsegold Creek. Persons downstream don't think it's a good idea at all.
The casino argues the treated water would be perfectly safe and from what I know of tertiary treatment, the argument is probably valid. But it won't get them over the public relations hurdle downstream.
So why not find a use for this treated, safe water? Certainly watering landscaping is an obvious one. Or for showers in the rooms. Or for dishwashing.
It seems to me a win-win situation for casino costs, the area water table and perhaps others.
But what do I know? I once drew to an inside straight.
