Shared vision

What is a vision? The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., along with Rosa Parks, had a vision. Even former President Jimmy Carter had a vision that continues today with Habitat for Humanity to improve living conditions in this nation and the world. That's just a few, with thousands more who always foresee the future.

The past six years have been disastrous, a dereliction of duty to our great nation by this administration in going to war with Iraq without proof-positive that there were any weapons of mass destruction.

If it was an eye for an eye, then this administration was dead wrong, because the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers took more than 3,000 lives, and now we've lost more than 3,000 young American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

France and Germany had a vision to avoid going to war, since they foresaw the future.

Wouldn't a peace-loving, long-enduring democratic nation be better? As in: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

That is the vision everyone should have.
