I was saddened to read in The Bee Feb. 1 that Molly Ivins, the syndicated columnist, had passed away.
It was a delight to read Molly's column revealing the goings-on behind the scenes of the administration of George W. "I am the decision-maker" Bush.
It was Molly's columns that revealed much of the corruption and no-bid contracts awarded to companies which were raking in billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayers' money -- companies such as Halliburton, of which Vice-President Dick Cheney is the ex-CEO, which has been under fire as a flagrant receiver of such contracts.
I hope that some other columnist will take over where Molly left off, to keep the public informed of what goes on behind the scenes.
