We, as parents, should be outraged at what is happening in our schools and to our children. In this era of standardized testing, we are creating students who can only function if they have three or four answers to choose from.
They no longer need to be critical thinkers, or active learners; they just have to know how to beat the testmakers' questions. This is fine if they go on to work on assembly lines, but it doesn't work if they become doctors, lawyers or some other profession requiring more than a multiple-choice decision.
