Letters to the Editor

Reading list

Anyone interested in government past, present and future can learn from Doris Kearns Goodwin's "Team of Rivals," an account of the Lincoln presidency and its cabinet published in late 2005.

Perhaps this title should be added to those recently recommended by other readers. Had it been published and read by George W. Bush before his assumption of the presidency, our history might have taken a different course.

Perhaps President Bush has read it recently, since there was a recent interview with first lady Laura Bush in which she indicated he is reading "a lot."
