Changing climate

Fortunately, it does not take Al Gore to explain recent events in Denver to "the world is flat" society.

If John Boylan [letter Dec. 28] had seen "An Inconvenient Truth" or read genuine global warming studies, he would have learned that our changing climate conditions do not mean there will be a cessation of storms, but rather more erratic weather patterns, and moreover, even worse storms from time to time.

The danger of global warming lies not with temperate, inhabited areas of the globe, but the drastic changes happening now at the extreme ends of the Earth.

I hope Al Gore's film becomes required study for children and young adults around the world, as it makes the complexities of climate change easy to understand.
