Your Faith and Values section (Dec. 9) contains the ethics advice column written by Randy Cohen of the New York Times. In it he advises a corporate Internet technician, who found child pornography on his president's computer, thus: "Don't rat out boss over computer porn."
He goes on to make several save-your-job statements and concludes with, "Since you have no reason to believe your boss has had improper contact with children, you should not subject him to such ferocious repercussions for looking at forbidden pictures ... . Your best resource? Alas, silence."
It is time for you to seek a new ethics adviser for your newspaper.
