Letters to the Editor

Keep alert

As a Navy Veteran of World War II during this post "Pearl Harbor Day" period, I feel qualified and prompted to remind Bee readers, and indeed all Americans, that we continue to be at war with terrorists. Although we have not been attacked by them in our homeland since Sept. 11, 2001, we must not become complacent.

And we must remember to thank our brave military troops currently and courageously conducting the war on terrorism in Iraq, which is a major reason we have not had a second major attack here.

I close with an apropos motto from the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association: "Remember Pearl Harbor. Keep America alert!"
