Kudos to Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer and his new task force for their daunting fight to eliminate the Bulldogs gang. I find it hard to understand why we have let gangs control our streets for so long. We need to take back our streets, city and children. Maybe we should be taking control of ourselves first, before we start shipping our young men and women to Iraq.
How can we presume to tell other countries how to live in peace when we can't take care of business here at home? We have many laws; how about a law making membership in a gang illegal? How about enforcing it? Why are parents not held accountable?
It's a sad world when criminal rights are protected more than the victims. I hope Chief Dyer doesn't stop with just the Bulldogs gang. For the sake of our children, we need to take back our streets.
