'Two wrongs'

Praise is due federal judge Oliver Wanger for halting the city of Fresno's tactic of "solving" the downtown homeless problem by bulldozing their few possessions, including medications, important documents, precious photographs and apparently even an urn containing the ashes of a loved one.

Fresno Mayor Alan Autry should search his Christian heart and ask himself if he really believes Jesus Christ would be bulldozing the belongings of the homeless, whatever the reason for their homelessness, be it drugs, alcohol or economic hardship.

If the mayor is honest with himself, he knows Jesus would be down trying to help them another way. Brute force and property destruction are not the answer for the homeless problem. If they are breaking a law, arrest or cite them. But don't destroy their property. Two wrongs don't make a right.
