In a letter Oct. 13, Paula Baraldi asks if anyone remembers when Jerry Brown was governor.
Yes, actually I do. I remember a governor who had great imagination, had the ability to envision a better future, cared about all citizens in all their variety, valued education and was, unlike his current challenger for attorney general, never a lap-dog to big money.
And he had the courage to appoint as chief justice (the great Rose Bird) a person who had a heart, a soul, a conscience and a brain she was not afraid to use. Go Jerry!
