Remembering Guarantee

I enjoyed the article Oct. 31 on Guarantee Savings in the Business section. The Valley hasn't seen a banking institution of that caliber since Guarantee merged with GlenFed. At Guarantee the customer always came first and branches were beautifully built and immaculately maintained and that added value to our Valley communities in so many ways.

I want to add my father's name to those in the article. James R. "Jim" Nash started with Fresno Guarantee Savings & Loan as an appraiser, later to become president and a member of the board of directors.

My dad was an instrumental part of the Guarantee team. He worked hard bringing Guarantee Savings through the savings and loan crisis in the late 1970s, and was a part of bringing Guarantee from a private company to being listed on the New York Stock Exchange

As his family, we were on the Guarantee team also. We were very proud of our father and his hard work and proud to be affiliated with such a high quality institution.
