Nov. 26 (just after the election) is a date that should go down in infamy. On that date, the United States will have been at war in Iraq as long as we fought the Germans, Italians and the Japanese in World War II.
During those three years, eight months and one week, we trained hundreds of thousands of airmen, millions of sailors, soldiers and Marines to use planes, ships and equipment that hadn't been designed or built yet.
Since the Iraqi war was started, we've been told the Iraqis, once trained, will take over. It won't happen under this administration. And neither will a successful conclusion to the war. It has been 31/2 years since "Mission Accomplished."
