It is a common belief that "We, the People" can be a valuable asset "For the People" when the color barriers are erased and "All People are created Equally" so that we can live harmoniously in a democratic nation and be "The Land of the Free" and "The Home of the Brave."
For those who have been in combat, as I was during the Korean War, it is an experience that will never be forgotten. And now there are more than 100,000 U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting battles of mind and muscle against an unseen, faceless enemy combatant.
On Nov. 11 there will be a Veterans Day parade honoring those who served in all of the wars, starting at 10 a.m., in downtown Fresno.
The grand marshals will be our own colorful American Indian veterans.
