Gov. Brown is pushing a budget proposal that would eliminate a large amount of funding to Career Technical Education programs. I am a student in the Clovis FFA Chapter, and the passing of this budget proposal would eliminate the largest source of our funding.
The Clovis FFA is on an uphill swing, and the passing of this proposal would force our ag program to cut class offerings. However, this budget proposal doesn’t affect solely students at Clovis East. Anybody involved in a Career Technical Education program will face a large portion of their funding being cut. As a result of budget cuts, the options available to students in our education system will be cut as well.
I am asking that anyone who has had a positive experience in Career Technical Education write their local representative and urge them to vote “no” on Gov. Brown’s budget proposal.
