Why do domestic violence victims stay with their abusers? Although many don’t know about the situation going on, there are many who judge without knowing the victim’s side of the story.
Leaving an abuser can be very dangerous, especially while an abuser has a weapon like a gun, knife or any other tools. In Russia, 36,000 women have been beaten every day by a husband or partner. Many of the women who suffer from domestic violence say they’re “OK,” or “It was my fault,” because they burned the food or dropped something.
Victims often blame themselves instead of seeking help. Although there are countries like Mauritania, Africa, where domestic violence is rare, in other nations, domestic violence is common.
