Thumbs up to Brian and Traci Martin for winning a new 3,100-square-foot home in the Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. The home is in the DeYoung CountrySide community in Clovis. Community donations to the contest raised $1,075,100 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. That’s a record for the annual event and St. Jude’s will receive 100% of the proceeds, according to the organizers. DeYoung Properties is a major donor and builder of eight dream homes, which have helped to raise $7,608,345 to assist St. Jude patients fight cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Thumbs up to the Fresno Veterans Day Parade supporters and Table Mountain Rancheria for organizing, performing and attending an annual event billed as the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi. The parade is televised worldwide via the Pentagon Channel. More than 20,000 people attended the parade, which honored the U.S. Coast Guard and Korean War veterans. The committee recruited more than 200 entries and had more than 10,000 participants. As the official sponsor, Table Mountain is committed to funding the parade. Good job, all hands.
