A storm drenched the Valley on Christmas night, with more rain projected this week, the National Weather Service said.
Following a sunny and dry Christmas Eve, Fresno received 0.65 of an inch of rain on Saturday, most of it between 8 and 11 p.m., weather service meteorologist Gary Sanger said.
Around the Valley, rain totals ranged from 0.38 of an inch in Visalia to 0.67 of an inch in Merced, Sanger said. Madera received 0.53 of an inch and Hanford got 0.45 of an inch.
Two new storms are headed for the region, Sanger said. The first, expected to arrive Tuesday night, could drop up to an inch of rain in Fresno. The second storm is expected over New Year's weekend.
