The NWS issues heat advisory for Wednesday

The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA issued a heat advisory at 10:21 a.m. on Tuesday valid for Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. for San Luis Obispo County Inland Central Coast and Santa Barbara County Inland Central Coast.
The NWS informs, "Temperatures up to 92 degrees expected."
"There is a high risk for heat illness for sensitive populations including the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors," explains the NWS.
This advisory is in effect until Wednesday at 7 p.m.
NWS Heat Wave Safety Tips: Stay safe with these recommendations
- Stay hydrated: Keep yourself well-hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
- Find cool shelter: Stay in an air-conditioned room.
- Stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
- Child and pet safety: Do not leave young children and pets unattended in vehicles when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
- Take extra precautions outdoors: If you work or spend time outside, be sure to take additional safety measures.
- Optimal Timing: When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
- Recognize early indicators: Learn to identify the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Dress for comfort: Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing to stay cool.
To minimize risks during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) advises incorporating frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. If someone experiences heat-related symptoms, promptly relocate them to a cool and shaded spot. In case of an emergency, dial 911.
