Step onto Roy Rogers ranch for sale at $3.7 million
They’re rounding up potential buyers for the 65-acre Roy Rogers’ Double R Bar Ranch in Victorville that is listed at $3.7 million.
The working ranch was owned by the “singing cowboy” actor and his actress-wife Dale Evans. Entering the ranch is like stepping back into the Wild West, according to the listing, with a western town, saloon and landmark “Red Barn,” which not only has 17 horse stables and a half-mile racetrack, but a kitchen, bathrooms, bridle room, banquet rooms and a workshop, as well.
The listing boasts the potential income-producing aspects of the property, which sits off Route 66 and the Mojave River, such as dude ranch, camping, wedding venue, concerts, corporate retreats and film set.
The main house on the property is 1,900 square-foot and has four bedrooms and three baths. A detached guest house is 1,400 square feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry room. Then there’s a 1,300 square-foot bunkhouse near the stables, birthing area, training facilities and hay barn.
That’s six beds, five and a half baths and 4,639 square-feet of living space in all.
The couple owned the ranch until Rogers died in 1998 at age 86 and Evans died in 2001 at age 88, according to the Los Angeles Times. Rogers starred in films and television shows, including “The Roy Rogers Show” from 1951 to 1957. The show closed with a popular song, “Happy trails to you, until we meet again.”
Evans starred on “The Roy Rogers Show,” and in films with her husband, such as “Apache Rose” and “Bells of San Angelo.”
