The state’s political watchdog on Thursday fined the Tulare County Democratic Central Committee for multiple minor violations of campaign finance law related to finance statements.
Fair Political Practices commissioners officially approved a $3,179 fine for the violations.
According to the Fair Political Practices Commission, the central committee and Treasurer Ruben Macarena “failed to timely file and properly disclose” financial information on one pre-election and seven semiannual campaign statements covering the period of July 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015.
The agency and the central committee had earlier reached a settlement on the fine, which was uncontested. Thursday’s action was a formal approval.
