Former Fresno Unified Trustee Michelle Asadoorian has a new job. She started Tuesday in a part-time position with Fresno County Supervisor Andreas Borgeas.
“Her community involvement and expertise in education and public policy make her invaluable,” Borgeas said.
Asadoorian, 56, didn’t seek a third term last November on the Fresno Unified school board. Now, she’ll be working on constituent services and doing research for Borgeas. On Wednesday, she and Borgeas met with the Fig Garden Homeowners Association, which advocates for the unincorporated community, to discuss issues where Fresno city and Fresno County intersect.
Though the county supervisor post is technically non-partisan, Borgeas is a Republican. Asadoorian is a Democrat. No matter, Borgeas said. Asadoorian’s job is to serve the community, regardless of party registration, and he said she’ll bring an added perspective to the post.
