Governor's staffers get pay raises

Gov. Schwarzenegger's chief of staff is getting a 22.7% pay raise, and the rest of his senior staff will get 10.6% increases, the Governor's Office announced Friday.

With the pay hike, staff chief Susan Kennedy's pay will rise from $142,572 to $175,000. The 10 staffers who are getting raises will see their salaries climb from $133,728 to $147,900. They are: Cynthia Bryant, deputy chief of staff and director of the Office of Planning and Research; John Cruz, appointments secretary; Dan Dunmoyer, Cabinet secretary and deputy chief of staff; Will Fox, deputy chief of staff for operations; Andrea Hoch, legal affairs secretary; Chris Kahn, legislative affairs secretary and deputy chief of staff; Ross LaJeunesse, deputy chief of staff and senior adviser to the governor; Sharon Majors-Lewis, judicial appointments secretary; Adam Mendelsohn, deputy chief of staff for communications; Dan Zingale, senior adviser to the governor and chief of staff to Maria Shriver.

"The governor believes in attracting and maintaining the best and brightest, and that means paying them proper salaries," spokesman Aaron McLear said.
