Michael Hanson should take a leave of absence as Fresno Unified School District superintendent, according to 70 percent of respondents in a Survey USA Poll for ABC30.
The poll, released Thursday afternoon by the television station, surveyed people who have been following news about a federal grand jury investigation into the district’s school construction practices.
Pollsters wanted to know what respondents think about Hanson and his leadership. On the leave of absence question, 26 percent said “no,” Hanson shouldn’t step aside, and 4 percent said they weren’t sure.
On another question, half of the respondents said they believe Hanson has committed ethical violations but hasn’t done anything illegal, 20 percent say the superintendent has broken the law and 18 percent say he has done nothing wrong.
