AMAE hosts annual state conference Nov. 7 in Fresno

Valley educators are invited to The Association of Mexican American Educators’ annual state conference on Nov. 7 at the Piccadilly Inn Airport in Fresno.

AMAE’s keynote speakers feature Theresa Montano, vice president of California Teachers Association and Dan Diaz, a counselor at McFarland High School, who was portrayed in the Disney movie “McFarland USA”.

Sixteen professional development workshops will also be offered to educators, parents and students in education programs at colleges and universities. Cost is $50 for parents and students and $100 for educators.

AMAE will be awarding their “Homenaje a la Mujer,” “Cesar Chavez” and “El Fuego Nuevo” awards during the conference, with dining entertainment provided by Clovis West Folklorico and Kings Cultural Center Mariachi group.

The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
