The Porterville Unified School District Pathways Program will host its IGNITE Assembly Wednesday at Buck Shaffer Auditorium at 9 a.m.
Over 800 ninth-grade students currently in the Pathways’ 10 open-choice programs will attend.
The event is used as a way to get students excited about their participation in the Pathways program as former alumni will be present to speak about their personal experiences.
Started in 2009, Porterville began its Pathways Program as a way to develop district-wide career-themed, college-prep pathways for high school students. As part of the Linked Learning Alliance, Pathways helps to give Porterville students an opportunity to learn in a project-based “real-world application” instructional program.
