Clovis North High School students in Joel Abels’ drama class experienced a different act Thursday: life without sight.

The students participated in a lunch called “Savory for the Senses” where about 40 students and others were blindfolded for a lunch, according to a news release from Clovis Unified School District.

The event was Inspired by classmate Heaven Vallejos, who hasn’t let her blindness stop her from fully participating in school activities like drama and elementary cross country, the district says in its release.
