Fresno Pacific University students held a rally Friday to protest cuts that Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing in the Cal Grant program.
Organizers said Brown wants to trim 11.3 percent in 2015-16 from the maximum award for students who attend private, nonprofit universities. Such a move, FPU students said, would hurt students’ abilities to attend college.
Students signed a banner to register their opinions, and it will be delivered to the governor’s office on Tuesday.
