Fresno student and teacher honored in entrepreneurship showcase in New York

A Fresno student and teacher were honored Wednesday at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship Global Showcase in New York City.

Kelsey Hershey, a senior at Roosevelt High, displayed her business idea called Poppy’s Jam, an organic jam that is free from genetically modified ingredients.

Hershey came up with Poppy’s Jam after learning about a small-business competition through Roosevelt’s business academy program.

Hershey was honored in New York with her instructor, Linda Jean Voth.

The NFTE Global Showcase featured student and teacher delegations from 29 locations around the world.
