Clovis Unified School District will host an awards ceremony on Wednesday to honor 14 high school juniors who have persevered through serious traumas, such as a critical illness or the death of a parent.
The district will host a dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building, followed by the 2015 Students of Promise awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
Each student will be eligible to receive a $1,500 scholarship for college or trade school upon graduation. The Foundation for Clovis Schools began awarding these scholarships in 2001.
Conner Cox, a 2004 Student of Promise and a current teacher at Pinedale Elementary, will be the special guest speaker.
