Pet adoption project at Clovis school

A pet adoption project with class is taking place Friday at a Clovis elementary school carnival.

During the Garfield Elementary School carnival, Buchanan High School's new Service Based Leadership class will hold a high-tech animal adoption for potential new pet owners between 4 and 7 p.m.

Five students from the class will join members of the Valley Animal Shelter, so anyone interested in adopting a pet can come to the booth, log onto the Valley Animal Shelter adoption page and find the pet they want.

Shelter staff members can answer questions about their adoptable animals. The class hopes to spread the word about the no-kill shelter and interest Clovis families in adopting animals into their home.
