Three children were hurt Friday afternoon when a school bus narrowly avoided colliding with a car west of Highway 99, the California Highway Patrol said.
The Central Unified School District bus driver was driving east on Shields Avenue about 3:30 p.m. when she saw a car roll through a stop sign on southbound Hayes Avenue, the CHP said.
The bus driver swerved to avoid hitting the car, knocking the kids on the inside.
One of the students was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
