12-year-old held in bomb threat calls

A 12-year-old student at Kings Canyon Middle School was arrested Friday on suspicion of phoning in bomb threats to the school, Fresno police said.

School district officials say they received a bomb threat about noon Wednesday and a second threat about noon Thursday.

The call was made from a cell phone by a student who said there was a bomb on the campus.

A short time later, another 911 cell phone call was made from the same number and left "open," tying up the 911 line for nearly 18 minutes, police said.

Police and school staff searched the middle school and didn't find any suspicious devices.
