Professionals in the architecture, engineering and building trades are being sought by the Central California Builders Exchange to serve in the ACE Mentor Program.
ACE -- an acronym for architecture, construction, and engineering -- pairs working pros with local high school students who want to prepare for careers in design and construction.
Participating in the coming 2010-11 school year are Fresno's Design Science, Edison, Duncan Polytechnical and Hoover high schools; Liberty High School in Madera; Clovis High School and Kerman High School.
Participating companies and mentors work with groups of 15 to 30 students, meeting with them throughout the year to create a design project that is presented at the end of the year.
