Fresno Christian honors 65 high school grads

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer was the class speaker Thursday night as Fresno Christian High School celebrated its 65 graduating seniors. Here's a rundown of what happened at the graduation ceremony:

The ceremony: 7 p.m. Thursday in the Peoples Church sanctuary

School mascot: Eagles

School colors: Maroon and black

Some colleges graduates will attend: Biola, University of Alabama, Azusa Pacific, California Baptist University, Pepperdine, Menlo University, South Carolina State, UC Davis

Attendance at graduation ceremony: about 1,700

Most surprising moment: Many in the audience didn't realize how many of the students had achieved grade-point averages of 4.0 or better while involved in extracurricular activities.

There were 18, six boys and 12 girls.
