CSUF ceremony honors Japanese-Americans

Graduation season started Thursday with a special commencement ceremony for students of Japanese ancestry whose educations at Fresno State were disrupted by World War II.

The university conferred 27 honorary bachelor of humane letters degrees.

Six of those being honored accepted their diplomas in person.

Today

  • All day: Department ceremonies, various locations on campus
  • 7:30 p.m.: Graduate Degree Hooding Ceremony, Save Mart Center

Saturday

  • 9:30 a.m.: 99th University Commencement, Save Mart Center
  • 1 p.m.: International Commencement Celebration, Concert Hall
  • 2 p.m.: African-American Recognition Program, Save Mart Center
  • 6 p.m.: Latino Commencement Celebration, Save Mart Center
