A team from Edison Computech Middle School will be competing in the National Science Bowl starting this weekend in Washington, D.C.
Computech is one of 37 middle schools with teams headed to the competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Sixty-eight high school teams are also competing.
The teams -- from 42 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- will be quizzed on biology, chemistry, earth science, physics and astronomy, as well as math. They will vie for trophies and prizes.
Middle school question and answers begin on Saturday. On Sunday, middle school teams will race model solar cars they designed and built.
Championship rounds begin Monday.
