Clovis Unified School District is getting a relative bargain on a new school.
District trustees on Monday approved bids valued at $15.45 million to construct a school at Dakota and Armstrong avenues, a half-mile south of the Clovis city limits. The land is near several new housing tracts within the city of Fresno.
The bids were about $3 million less than the district's original $18.45 million estimate in 2008, according to district documents. Construction is being funded for with bond funds, some state funds and developer fees.
The school is scheduled to open for the 2011-12 school year.
