Clovis Unified School District earned top state honors among school districts with more than 92% of its schools reducing energy consumption since 2008.
The district had 38 of 41 schools tested that met or exceeded Energy Star guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The achievement was marked Tuesday at Gettysburg Elementary School, the only school in Clovis Unified that received a 100% score and one of only 10 schools statewide earning the top score.
As part of the energy-saving project, the district saved $1.87 million in electricity and natural gas costs last year.
