Fresno State dean seeks Mississippi job

A Fresno State dean is among three candidates for the job of vice president of the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast campus in Long Beach, Miss.

Andrew Rogerson, professor of biology and dean for Fresno State's College of Science and Mathematics, will visit the campus with the other candidates over the next two weeks.

The vice president is chief executive officer for USM's Gulf Coast operations and reports directly to university President Martha Saunders.

The other finalists are Betsy Vogel-Boze, a marketing professor at Kent State University in Stark, Ohio, and Frances Lucas, Millsaps College president and the daughter of former USM President Aubrey Lucas.

Editor's note: Because of incorrect information from The Associated Press, an earlier version of this story incorrectly described Lucas as a former president of Millsaps College.
