Charter school submits plan for Met lease

The principal of a Fresno charter school has submitted a proposal to City Hall to lease two floors of the former home of the Fresno Metropolitan Museum.

Dave Childers, who heads the Academy for Civic and Entrepreneurial Leadership, said he wants the fourth and fifth floors of the historic five-story building.

He said he turned in his proposal Jan. 12, and the city, which took title to the building last year, has yet to make a counteroffer.

Childers said he and city officials are scheduled to meet today.
