A wanted man was arrested last week in possession of drugs, stolen property and an assault rifle, the Madera County Sheriff’s Department said.
On Saturday, deputies went to a home in the 19000 block of Avenue 18 in northwest Madera County where a wanted person was being detained by bail enforcement agents.
There, the deputies found a stolen pickup and three stolen ATVs and seized 60 pounds of marijuana, 520 grams of methamphetamine and a power bypass used to steal electricity from PG&E. The power theft was estimated over $1,000, the sheriff’s department said.
“Drug production and sales has long existed hand-in-hand with thieves stealing your property,” Sheriff Jay Varney said in a news release.
Gordon McCarty was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.
