A Fresno man was slashed on the arm during a home invasion robbery committed by a man and a visibly pregnant woman Tuesday afternoon near Ashlan and Millbrook avenues, police reported.
The incident took place just after noon in the 3400 block of East Indianapolis Avenue. Lt. Joe Gomez said that a man and a pregnant woman, both in their early 20s, knocked on the victim’s door. Somehow, the pair knew the victim’s first name and made their way into his home. Gomez said it’s possible that they learned the name through a recent obituary of the victim’s wife.
While the woman sat on the couch, the man asked to use the bathroom. Instead, he began going through property in a bedroom. Gomez said when the victim saw the man with what looked like property wrapped in a shirt, he tried to restrain the suspect and was slashed with some type of weapon. Meanwhile, the female took $300 from the victim’s wallet. The pair then fled in a brown car with a smashed windshield.
