The shooting of four men outside a Visalia sports bar early Monday is under investigation by police, who are asking any witnesses to step forward and contact authorities.
One of the victims was in critical condition, while the other three had less serious injuries.
The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. outside The 5th Quarter, on the 3300 block of South Fairway Street. Police know the bar well – it has had 22 calls for service this year.
A police spokesman said a disturbance in which several people were asked to leave the venue preceded the shooting. The victims were leaving in a vehicle when a suspect on foot approached and fired several gunshots.
Police believe there are several witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
