Police: armed home invasion robber arrested

A man released from prison and placed on community supervision was arrested Tuesday in northwest Fresno on home invasion charges, Fresno police reported.

The home invasion took place Monday on North Hughes Avenue where the suspect reportedly used a handgun to commit the robbery. Detectives identified Lloyd Whittenberg as one of three suspects after the other two were taken into custody. Tuesday, officers learned that Whittenberg was at a home on East Normal Avenue and he was arrested by officers with a police dog and charged with the robbery.
