A routine traffic stop turned into an arrest for carrying 66 pounds of marijuana, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
Spokesman Tony Botti said the stop around 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28 happened on Interstate 5 near Dorris Avenue. The driver, Guan Yee, 54, of Hacienda Heights, told the deputy he had illegal drugs in his car. A search turned up dozens of vacuum-sealed plastic bags containing a total of 66 pounds of processed marijuana, plus a large, undisclosed amount of cash. Yee is being held in Fresno County Jail.
