A 13-year-old boy was arrested in Lemoore after posting a threatening picture on the social media app Snapchat, the Kings County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.

The Navy Criminal Investigative Service at Lemoore Naval Air Station on Thursday was originally alerted to the picture, which showed the entrance to a gun shop with the words “guns, ammo, rods and reels.”

Below that, was the message: “Be ready akers.”

NCIS agents believed the quote to be a reference to Akers Elementary School, where the boy is a student. Working with the sheriff’s office, agents contacted the boy, who admitted to posting the photo, according to a news release.

No weapons were found at his home.

The boy was arrested and booking into the Kings County Juvenile Center.
