A woman in Lemoore has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon after she struck a man with a handgun during a domestic violence incident, police reported.

She was identified as Farah Gonzalez, 37.

Police reported that on Thursday, officers were sent to the 100 block of South 19th Avenue to investigate a disturbance. Officers contacted Gonzalez, who said that a man and another woman were involved in a argument. But officers learned that Gonzalez herself was at the center of the incident and determined that she struck the man in the head with the handgun several times.

Gonzalez reportedly followed the man outside and pulled the trigger on the apparently unloaded weapon several times. After the victim tried to flee, she stood in front of his car and he returned to his apartment.

Gonzalez was booked into the Kings County Jail on $60,000 bail.
